Institution Address

In this module, the user can add or edit one address at a time for the selected institution and indicate when an address is no longer valid.

 

When an Address Is No Longer Valid

  1. In the Thru Date field, enter the date that the address was no longer valid or the date that you learned that the address is not valid

  2. Click , which returns you to the Address tab

  3. On the Address tab, click next to the address that is current or to add a new address, which will return you to this module.

  4. Place a check in the Primary box on the Type row

  5. Click , which returns you to the Address tab

Field

Description

Address

Enter the Institution's street address or P.O. Box. The user can enter up to 200 characters.

City

Enter the city of the Institution. The user can enter up to 50 characters.

State

Select from a list of states/provinces/territories for the country selected in the Country field. This field will be hidden if no states/provinces/territories are defined for the country. The user can enter up to 50 characters for those without a list. The caption for this field is determined by the value of the State Caption field for the selected country from the Country Dialog on the System Tables page. This field will be hidden if no states/provinces/territories are defined for the country.

Postal Code

The user can enter up to 10 characters.

Country*

Select from a list of records from the Country table in the System Tables. This field is required and will default to the value of the Default Country Configuration variable when inserting a new record.

Type*

Select the type of address from the following choices:

  • Business

  • Business2

  • Main Office

  • Other

When inserting a new record, the  default value is Business. This field is required.

Type Name

When the Type field is equal to Other, then the Type Name field will appear. The user can enter up to 25 characters and is required.

Primary

After checking this field and saving the record, the current record will be identified as the primary address for the contact. All other address records for this contact will be marked as non-primary.

Comment

The user can enter up to 200 characters.

Restrictions

From Date:*

The From Date is required.  It will default to the current date when adding a new record. You may select an unknown date by clicking the blank check box.

Thru Date:

The Thru Date  is used to indicate when an address is no longer current or valid. You may select an unknown date by clicking the blank check box.
